Dr. Aimee Picard
Dr. Aimee joined our practice in January 2013. She grew up in the Chicago area and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 2003. She graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago Dental School in 2007 and practiced as a general dentist in Chicago. She completed her pediatric dental training at the University of Michigan in 2012.
Dr. Aimee lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two daughters. Her hobbies include traveling and running.
Dr. Kristin Auer
Dr. Kristin Auer joined our practice in January 2015. She grew up in Davison, MI, and received her undergraduate degree from Hope College in Holland, MI in 2008. She graduated from dental school in 2012 and completed her pediatric dental training in 2014 at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Dr. Kristin and Dr. Max are married and live in Chelsea with their son. Her hobbies include baking and spending time in Northern Michigan.
Dr. Max Auer
Dr. Max joined our practice in September 2017. Dr. Max grew up near Madison, Wisconsin, and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2012 and completed his pediatric dental training at New York University in 2014.
Dr. Max and Dr. Kristin are married and live in Chelsea with their son. His hobbies include painting and cooking.
Dr. Lucas Mathes
Dr. Mathes went to the University of Detroit Mercy for both undergraduate, where he studied biology and philosophy, and dental school. Following dental school he completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at The University of Michigan. In residency, Dr. Lucas met his wife, who is also a pediatric dentist and his former co-resident!
Outside of pediatric dentistry he loves spending time with his cat, Stewie. He also loves reading, music, and is an amateur hand-tool-only woodworker.
Dr. Zach Bennett
Dr. Zach grew up in Aurora, IL and attended Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (Go Jags!) where he swam as a Division I athlete. He graduated from the University of Michigan for both dental school and specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Zach lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Brittani and enjoys competing in triathlons, exploring Michigan, and hanging out with their dog Sulley.
Dr. Ray Maturo - Retired 2026
Dr. Ray opened Ann Arbor Pediatric Dentistry in 1987 and has been a pillar in the dental community ever since. Dr. Ray has served as President of the Washtenaw District Dental Society and has spent countless years teaching the next generation of pediatric dentists at the University of Michigan Dental School. Dr. Ray built AAPD with the mission to provide the very best pediatric dental care for all children.
We could not be more proud of everything that Dr. Ry has done to support the children and families in our community. The AAPD team is dedicated to continuing the legacy that Dr. Ray has created. We wish Dr. Ray the absolute best in his retirement.
