Preventing the Spread of Illness in Child Care or School

In our busy society it’s hard for parents to interrupt their work schedules when their children get sick. The best way for parents to help their children stay as healthy as possibly is to get educated (and then to educate their kids) about how to prevent illness in the first place.

When looking for child care parents should ask detailed questions about sick child policy, immunization requirements as well as check out the cleanliness of the place where children spend their time. “Whenever children are together, there is a chance of spreading infections. This is especially true among infants and toddlers who are likely to use their hands to wipe their noses or rub their eyes and then handle toys or touch other children. These children then touch their noses and rub their eyes so the virus goes from the nose or eyes of one child by way of hands or toys to the next child who then rubs his own eyes or nose.”
